I Built VideoGuide & Country Life Videos — Same Codebase, Fully Customizable, ~$5/Month Each

I was looking for a clean video tool our teams could actually use without fighting the platform.

Loom looked promising at first, but the setup was a pain (especially with the Atlassian side of things) and the pricing had become more expensive than it used to be. Instead of signing up for yet another subscription with per-seat costs, I decided to build exactly what we needed.

Now we have two live systems running off the same customizable codebase:

Both are simple, secure video platforms: record screen + camera, organize into folders, generate clean share links, and control access with easy magic-link sign-in (work email). No bloat, no surprise fees, and everything stays on-brand and private.

The entire infrastructure for each runs for about $5 a month. Same reliable Next.js/TypeScript backend, just customized per use case and deployed on the right domain.

This approach has been a game-changer. We ship video content faster, keep full control, and avoid paying for features we don’t need.

The best part? Because it’s the same flexible codebase, I can spin up the exact same system for other teams or businesses. If you’re tired of Loom’s setup headaches and rising costs and want a clean, private video platform on your own domain, reach out. I’ll build and deploy a customized version tailored to how your team works.

No middleman. No ongoing bloat. Just a tool that fits.
